On this Time Machine, we’re featuring some of the best love songs of the ‘70s. In the country-music world, Dolly Parton recorded what was probably her biggest song. Both Paul McCartney and George Harrison came out of the gates with excellent albums. You may have slow-danced to the BeeGees. Many were romancing to the music of Al Green and Stevie Wonder. Roberta Flack won several Grammys for her take on an old English folk song.

Pop singer Roberta Flack is the only solo artist to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year on two consecutive years: "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" won at the 1973 Grammys as did "Killing Me Softly with His Song" in 1974. Flack was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in 2009.
