This week we focus again on Gang Of Four, seminal British post-punk band, who are playing the Varsity Theater on March 1. The word seminal means “to strongly influence later developments," and that's so true of Gang of Four. Post-punk is back again, given the rise in recent years to bands like IDLES, Yard Act, Dry Cleaning, Sports Team, and Wet Leg — those hard rhythms, jarring guitar chords, funky basslines, and politics-as-life lyrics that Gang of Four helped create in the late ‘70s we celebrate this week on Teenage Kicks.
