This week back in 1981, Blondie had their final No. 1 single in America, when "Rapture" became the first “hiphop” song reach the top of the charts. Although typically thought of as a punky new wave band, Blondie had four No. 1s, and each drew upon a different musical genre to capture the hearts of America — rock, disco, reggae, and rap.
