The Time Machine invades 1976 this time. The dance floors were packed, dancing to Parliament and James Brown and disco. Punk rock was emerging with music from Ramones and Runaways. ABBA were so big they were Sweden's most profitable corporation. Johnny Cash had a surprise hit. George and Tammy were in the midst of divorce but had a huge hit, called "Golden Ring." Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers dropped their debut.

The first Rocky film starring Sylvester Stallone was one of the biggest of the year. The Big Red Machine — the Cincinnati Reds — swept the Yankees in the World Series. It's all 1976 our year on this episode of Time Machine Tuesday from The Current.
