This week's edition celebrates Black History Month, paying tribute to some of the music-makers of the era whose artistry moved the needle in the course of music history. Combining diverse genres like soul, funk, rock, pop, ska, new wave and even disco — these musicians celebrated Black heritage and inspired empowerment, ultimately giving rise to the birth of hip-hop and paving the way to a new era in alternative music.
