I've never used the words appointment television in my life until now. That's because MTV's 120 minutes on Sunday nights back in the day was just that: appointment television. And that's why this week's Transmission is all about celebrating that groundbreaking '80s and '90s show that spotlighted so many favorite bands who are still around today; many of which are anyway: from the Cure, Depeche Mode and New Order, to Nine Inch Nails, Pixies and Sonic Youth, an entire generation was introduced to amazing new sounds each and every week.
