This week we’re paying special tribute to legendary Irish singer, songwriter and activist Sinéad O'Connor by revisiting her debut album, "The Lion and the Cobra."
Released in October 1987, it stands as one of the most electrifying debuts in rock history, introducing the world to an outspoken young artist, brave enough to stand by her own beliefs on how she wanted to present herself and her music. With songs that explore heartbreak, desire and politics with the lyrical delirium of Yeats, "The Lion and the Cobra" is an utterly compelling debut from a remarkable woman and artist. As we mourn the passing of this important voice, let’s revisit the album that put her on the world’s stage.
