Forty years ago this week on December 16, 1983, new wave punk-funk-rock pioneers Talking Heads wrapped a 3-night stint at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater – performances that would ultimately become Stop Making Sense, the landmark live album and acclaimed film by director Jonathan Demme. Considered by critics to be one of the greatest concert films of all time -- and capturing the frantic energy and artsy grooves of the band -- Stop Making Sense (the movie) recently received a 4K restoration and has been re-released to celebrate its 40th anniversary. This week on Teenage Kicks, we’ll be spinning some of those live recordings featured in the film -- along with a mix of other new wave & post-punk classics.
