MPR Arts Reporter and Cube Critic Euan Kerr steps in for Stephanie Curtis this week to talk to Jill Riley and Steve Seel about two films, After Earth and Stories We Tell.

Jill and Euan compare notes on the first, a sci-fi thriller directed by M. Knight Shamalan and starring Will Smith and Jaden Smith. Euan then describes Stories We Tell, a documentary by Canadian filmmaker Sarah Polley that explores the way families deal with uncomfortable realities in their collective pasts.

After Earth is rated PG-13 and is in very wide release, playing at AMC, Mann and many other cinemas throughout the region. Stories We Tell is rated PG-13 and is screening at the Edina Landmark Cinema.
