9:30 Coffee Break: MN Music on a Stick

August 30, 2013

MN Music On-A-Stick
MN Music On-A-Stick
MN State Fair

We've been having a fun, although sweaty, time out at the State Fair the past week. The Current will continue to be out a the fair through Labor Day, and you can meet up with The Morning Show on Saturday from 3-6pm. Today, however, is MPR day at the State Fair. We'll be taking over Carousel Park for a live broadcast starting at 3pm and then we'll be hosting MN Music on a Stick at the Grandstand starting at 5pm.

We want to gear up for the concert tonight by playing your favorite songs from the artists performing at MN Music on a Stick. What song from (The Chalice, P.O.S., Mason Jennings, Trampled by Turtles, and The Suburbs) do you want to hear for today's 9:30 Coffee Break?

Congratulations to the winner of August's Coffee Break on the Road, Suzanne and Volunteers of America! We'll be bring Peace Coffee, treats from Salty Tart and The Ericksons to the Volunteers of America offices later today. Check out Suzanne's winning entry and don't forget to sign up for your chance to win next month. Suzanne wrote: "Why does Volunteers of America Minnesota deserve the Coffee Break on the Road...

Here's our top ten reasons
10 Our most popular radio station is 89.3. You can hear it drifting from cubicles and offices building wide.
9 Bumper stickers...we pledge our allegiance to your station on our dented junkers.
8 We like to celebrate - anything from hirings, retirements and mergers - with sweets. Cake, ice cream, brownies - we love it all.
7 We are such smitten fans of radio host Jill Riley that we discuss sitings of Jill over lunch.
5 Some of our departments have been undergoing a lot of change. A break from the routine is in order. Enough said.
4 Our elevator has been down for repair for several weeks and will be out of service for a total of 5-6 weeks. All those extra stair steps are good for a few extra calories, right?
3 Caffeine is our passion...especially French roast. Bring more, please.
2 Meeting The Ericksons and hearing them LIVE would be an incredible honor before they become superstars.
1 All of Volunteers of America services - from those helping children to senior citizens - inspire hope. (And we hope we WIN!)"
