Lorde
Lorde continues her #1 streak on this week's Chart Show.

Lordy lordy, looks like Lorde is established as our #1 for three straight weeks! She's playing a few shows in the UK right now and will come to the coasts of the States again late in September and early October — still no dates close to us here, though.

Arctic Monkeys, coming in at #3, previewed their forthcoming fifth record in full to the Web last week. AM will be officially released in the U.S. on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Bryce of The National — who are still holding steady on the Chart — did a great interview for our new Guitar Collection series.

Submit your Chart Show ballot for a chance to see Nine Inch Nails at the Xcel Energy Center on September 28.

Volcano Choir's album Repave was released this week to reasonable reviews. Pitchfork has a long chat with Justin Vernon, and elsewhere he suggested that Bon Iver was finished! That was quickly denied by his label Jagjaguwar, but remember, he also suggested that to The Current's own David Campbell.

Alt-J fans came out in force with the excitement of their upcoming shows this weekend; both sold out! "Matilda" is the fourth song from the An Awesome Wave album to chart.

Last week's new entries for NONONO and Superchunk both get a nice little bump and we have a trio of new entries this week, too:

Dessa's back on the road at Launch Festival for our West Coast posse in Sacramento this weekend and in Chicago next weekend on the Friday night of Riot Fest. I'll be there, too, getting ready for Pixies and The Replacements on Sunday night; Black Joe Lewis will be at First Ave on Oct. 1, still with the Honeybears in tow; Head and the Heart will start their tour with a few big festivals, this weekend at MusicFestNW in Portland. They arrive to the Twin Cities late in Oct. with Thao and the Get Down Stay Down.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi at the MPR booth this State Fair. It was a ton'o'fun in the sun! And especially to the nearly 9,000 peeps who came to the Minnesota Music-On-a-Stick show Friday night! Hearing the #17 song dedicated to us on that massive stage under the stars was another magical moment.
