Though his new single "is actually a summer jam," says Mark Mallman in a press release, "it's actually the result of cabin fever. My friends and I would stay inside dancing all night from to anything from 'Miss You' to 'Ashes to Ashes.' Then, the next day, I'd wake up around 3 p.m., down a gallon of water and ibuprofen, and start writing songs based off of what we were partying to. 'Monster Movies' came out of those sessions."
