Last Friday it was announced that the Replacements would return to 30 Rock to play the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallow on Sept. 9, lifting an NBC ban that followed their infamous Saturday Night Live performance in 1986. Tuesday's appearance on the late night talk show is just four days before the 'Mats play Midway Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 13.

We're celebrating the Replacements' first Twin Cities performance in over 23 years with a countdown of the top 30 'Mats songs starting at 5 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 13 before the sold out show. And be sure to vote because after you pick your faves, you can enter the Pleased to Meet (and Greet!) Me giveaway for a chance to win tickets to their Midway Stadium gig plus an opportunity to meet and greet with the band following their performance.

Leading up to their big Midway Stadium performance this Saturday, we'll be posting 10 question quizzes to test your Replacements knowledge. As the week goes on, the difficulty of the questions will increase, so brush up on your 'Mats knowledge with The Current's guide to the Replacements, the Replacement's family tree and full audio of the top six hometown 'Mats shows, including the earliest known live recording of the Replacements taped at Jay's Longhorn Bar in 1980.
