Hozier is dispossessed of the top spot this week despite being The Current's Album of the Week and the musical guest on Saturday Night Live last weekend! In her latest column, blogger Andrea Swensson discusses "Take Me to Church" and other hugely successfully crossover songs.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to alt-J's show at the Myth on Friday, Oct. 31!

Last week Lizzo performed "Bus Passes and Happy Meals" on the Late Show with David Letterman. Her big TV date with Letterman might have helped her and Caroline Smith climb to #1, but Smith is doing her part to spread the word going out on a string of dates including Fargo on Thursday and Friday in Duluth.

Highest new entry this week is "Riptide" from Vance Joy who has already won awards and broken records in Australia. The global hit just got a little bump from Billboard's Woman of the Year, Taylor Swift, who covered the track for the BBC. Find out more about the man behind Vance Joy, James Keogh, and where that name comes from.

Trampled By Turtles are back! The band recently recorded a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR. They wrap up the fall leg of their U.S. tour next week in Vegas but have booked more dates in the Southern states in December after returning from Europe.

Cold War Kids' new album Hold My Home comes out next week and the first single from it is another new entry at #13. They've also debuted "First," the second single off the record, on Soundcloud.

Jenny Lewis is back on the chart with another song from Voyager. She's been getting rave reviews for her live shows which will include a few with buddy Ryan Adams who helped produce the album. He fell off the Chart this week after eight weeks. In her review of his Norhtrop gig Andrea Swensson said, "Adams' most potent power is his ability to draw an audience in, and there were several moments during the show where the lights, moody organ parts, backing vocalists, and vulnerable lyrics converged in heartbreaking harmony."

Chastity Brown comes in at the all important #20 spot this week with her new single "Colorado," an ode to touring, which she is doing this week in Kiel, the small German town where my Father-in-law lives! She landed a big TV gig, too. She played the single on Later... with Jools Holland in the U.K. on Sept. 30!
