The Chart Show: Lizzo and Caroline Smith back at #1, Robert Plant inducted to Hall of Fame

Lizzo and Caroline Smith, the local dynamic duo are at #1 for the third time and are set to be inducted to the Chart Show Hall of Fame next week. Lizzo and GRRRL PRTY will be celebrating tonight at the Triple Rock Social Club — I'd love to have Thanksgiving dinner with that crew!

Robert Plant is inducted to the Hall of Fame for the first time ever this week. Nice to know there's still fresh awards this old guy can get! Robert will also be on my best of the year list, watch for this year's staff picks as we roll out The Current's annual Top 89 poll next week.
It's been a year of firsts for Hozier. This week he makes his New York Times debut favorably comparing his American audiences to those in Europe. "The crowds are so warm and giving," says Hozier. "Jackie and Wilson" is his second song to chart after "Take Me to Church" and is the highest new entry this week at #6.
Kendrick Lamar makes his first appearance on the Chart at #7 with "i," the first single off his new album. good kid, m.A.A.d city should drop in early 2015, just before a documentary about the making of the album hits Los Angeles' Museum of Contemporary Art in March.
The Black Keys are back on the Chart with the title track off their latest Turn Blue. If you've been inspired to pick up the guitar, you can enter for a chance to win Dan Auerbach's childhood guitar in a benefit raffle for the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.
The Decemberists have been long time favorites of the station so it's no surprise to see them back on the Chart at #9 with the first song off their forthcoming album What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World, out next year. They just released a TV spoof music video for "Make You Better" featuring Nick Offerman of Parks and Recreation.
Jack White is back as well with "Alone in My Home," another song off Lazaretto. That's not his new single, though. That would be "Would You Fight for My Love" which he is releasing as a 7". The B-side features a cover of "Parallel" by Dean Fertita who is a member of Jack's other bands, Dead Weather and Raconteurs, and is also a member of Queens of the Stone Age.
If you like the new Damien Rice record My Favourite Faded Fantasy, you might want to join his growing fan community called Eskimo Friends! They helped announce his big U.S. tour that includes an April 15 show at Northrop.
TV on the Radio are the biggest upward mover this week — up nine places to #5. The new album Seeds is The Current's Album of the Week. Mac Wilson describes it as "their most accessible to date."
