There's a local band at #1 for the first time this year! On the heels of the big announcement last week of them signing to Grand Jury Records and releasing a new video for "Souls," Hippo Campus are on a roll. They're also one of the many Minnesota bands making their way to Austin, TX for the SXSW Music Festival this month.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to the sold out Decemberists and Alvvays show at Northrop on Tuesday, March 24!

#3 this week and poised to be inducted to the Chart Show Hall of Fame for the very first time are Modest Mouse. On Tuesday the band shared "Of Course We Know," the fifth song off their Strangers to Ourselves album that releases March 17, and announced a whole slew of tour dates both in the States and Europe.

New video dropped this week for Courtney Barnett's "Depreston" off her sophomore album that will be out the following week. She also announced a string of tour dates, which doesn't include the Twin Cities?!?! She went up five places this week to #14.

Death Cab For Cutie are the biggest upward mover this week to #7. The new Kintsugi album comes out at the end of the month and they issued another song from it last week to rave reviews, with some calling it the "poppiest" they've ever been.

Alabama Shakes are back! They're the highest new entry at #15 with news of an interesting local gig on the banks of the Mississippi in North East—a venue that has never existed before—with Father John Misty (#5) as the opener!

Glass Animals are also a new entry with another track from last years Zaba album. They'll be playing Coachella and might break through to a more mainstream audience States-side this year. This week USA Today named them an artist to watch.

Hot Chip break into the Chart at #20 with the first single off the new album, Why Make Sense?, out in May. They're trying a unique way of attracting people to buy the vinyl or CD version of the album: every sleeve will be slightly different. That makes sense.
