Viet Cong are a four-piece band from Calgary whose sound has been described as "labyrinthine post-punk."

Comprising bassist/vocalist Matt Flegel, drummer Mike Wallace and guitarists Scott Munro and Daniel Christiansen, Viet Cong visited The Current's studio ahead of a gig at First Avenue in Minneapolis and before heading to Austin, Texas, for South by Southwest.

Given their band name, Viet Cong have come in for some criticism; serendipitously, they visited The Current the same day as Gang of Four's Andy Gill, who shared his wisdom about being in a band with a name that might ruffle feathers.
