Father John Misty, an ideal lyricist in my honest opinion, holds on to the top spot this week. Today Pitchfork compares some of his raunchiest lyrics with an Atlanta rapper simply known as Father.
Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to see the Tallest Man on Earth perform at First Avenue on Saturday, Aug. 29!
Dawes are inducted to the Chart Show Hall of Fame for the sixth time putting them in the top 10 of the All-Time list. And JD McPherson, one of our Rock the Garden performers this year, makes his debut in the Hall.
Brandi Carlile is poised to be inducted next week after climbing to No.7, buoyed perhaps by her visit to the Cabooze Outdoor Plaza last weekend where she said, "You guys are like family to me. Minnesota is like my home – it's like my second home."
Django Django were also in town last week, laying down another in-studio performance and talking "cornhole" with Mac Wilson.
You can watch a graphically pulsing video featuring two Chart denizens collaborating on "Under Neon Lights" by the Chemical Bothers, a track from a recent Album of the Week, with St. Vincent.
If you're in the U.K. you can see another pair of bands on our Chart together in September when the Staves join Florence and the Machine on tour. They answered three quick questions at our Eaux Claires Haus a few weeks back.
Alex of Hot Chip comes to the end of the line in the bleak new video for "Need You Now," brand new this week at No.20. They were in NYC this week covering LCD Soundsystem and Bruce Springsteen?!
Metric are also new with their self-proclaimed "summer banger" ahead of their Pagans in Vegas album. The band just released their own app that gives you sneak previews of unreleased songs before being available elsewhere.
