Stream the Cactus Blossoms' new album, 'You're Dreaming'

On Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, the Cactus Blossoms released their debut full-length studio album, You're Dreaming, on the Red House Records label. The Cactus Blossoms — brothers Page Burkum and Jack Torrey — have made a name for themselves among The Current's listeners and among regulars at the Turf Club in St. Paul.
You're Dreaming is produced by none other than JD McPherson, the Broken Arrow, Okla., singer-songwriter who is well-known to The Current's audience. "JD is a music connoisseur with the singing voice of an angel, the boundless creative energy of a child, a scholar's mind and the auditory perception of a wolf," Jack and Page wrote on their website.
The album features 10 original tracks, all with the Cactus Blossoms' signature harmonies and straightforward instrumentation. Those who have followed the Cactus Blossoms since their 2010 inception will recognize the track, "Change Your Ways or Die"; the brothers' most recent single, "Stoplight Kisses," has served as the album's lead single and has been getting spins on The Current. Careful listeners and superfans will recognize the song, "Mississippi," which the Cactus Blossoms performed during their live on-air set from the MPR booth at the 2015 Minnesota State Fair.
You're Dreaming's release date comes just one day before the Cactus Blossoms perform at First Avenue as part of The Current's 11th Birthday celebrations. "Their singing will make you stop in your tracks and stare at the radio," says Jim McGuinn, The Current's program director.
In his review of the album, Jon Freeman of Rolling Stone Country writes, "There's no getting around it: You're Dreaming is pretty damn dreamy."
