Thanks to Mac and Bill for hosting the show these next two weeks as me and the Missus go to Germany for vacation with her family and to see the start of the Tour De France in Dusseldorf!! It's the first time the race is starting in the German capital of electronic music and the Tour Director is a big Kraftwerk fan so he asked them to play a special show of their Tour De France album in it's entirety this weekend! It sold out before we could even consider it but I'm looking forward to being there! Coincidentally Sylvan Esso our Number One band this week are also in Germany next week for the Melt Festival, before coming back to the USA in time for Lollapalooza and two sold out First Avenue shows!

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win a pair of guest list passes to Ryan Adams at the Palace Theater, July 29, 2017!

Iron and Wine's new 'Beast Epic' album comes out August 25th and the first song released is the highest new entry. The art work is a lusciously rendered needle point portrait of band leader Sam Beam. Their tour will hit the Palace Theater October 14th.

One of the six bands on our chart that played the huge Glastonbury Festival last weekend are up to #7. Last time Foo Fighters played there half the crowd left to go watch an England soccer match on TV's. David Beckham scored a goal that day, this weekend he was standing side stage while they played!

After taking time away from music to write two highly acclaimed prize winning novels, John Darnielle is back with The Mountain Goats, brand new at #8. They're on tour with Jason Isbell, Palace Theater July 7th. They started a short Europe trip last week in the northern city where I went to school, so their webpage has the iconic phraseLive At Leeds.

Father John Misty is back on the chart after a two week hiatus, just when we need him with some Total Entertainment. And you can catch some of that live and in the open air this summer at The Surly Festival Field August 19th.

An unlikely pairing is paying dividends already, brand new at #13 this week a song produced by Mark Ronson aka 'Uptown Funk guy'. Which attracted him to Josh Homme leader of QOTSA!? "Villians" is out August 25th.

Radiohead were also at Glastonbury last Friday which apparently terrified them into a mesmerizing performance. Their OK Computer was re-issued that day too with bonus tracks, one of which is a new entry at #17. Our friends at NPR provided the audio this week.

The Secret Sisters were in town last weekend and provided us with audio of an intimate performance of these REAL sisters wonderful harmonies sitting in the studio with Mac. They also talked about the struggles of making this new album with Brandi Carlile as producer literally making the whole thing possible.

Semisonic just played a couple of sold out, raved about shows but leader Dan Wilson embarks on another leg of his solo career with 'Re-covered'. It's acoustic versions of songs that he's worked on for and with other singers. You might recognize this from Adele's version, new at #20. He recently talked to Cecilia for the Local Current Blog.
