Barack Obama likes year-end lists, too

In late December, year-end lists abound. Here at The Current, it's a tradition to celebrate the year's conclusion (and the New Year) with the Top 89 — a year-end countdown shaped by listeners' votes. In the run-up to the countdown, The Current's staff put together their favorites as well.

It turns out former President Barack Obama is a fan of year-end lists, too. Posting on his Facebook page, Obama assembled his list of favorite films, books and music of 2018. "It gives me a moment to pause and reflect on the year through the books, movies, and music that I found most thought-provoking, inspiring, or just plain loved," Obama writes.
