Good Morning Bedlam release 'Lulu,' title track to their forthcoming album

The Current and Radio Heartland are proud to debut the song and official music video for “Lulu” by Minneapolis folk trio Good Morning Bedlam. The song is the title track for Good Morning Bedlam's forthcoming album, releasing February 4, 2022.
The music video was directed by Nathaniel Nelson of the Treedome group in Rochester, Minnesota. Nelson's previous work includes videos for Eau Claire, Wis., band Them Coulee Boys and for the Minneapolis collective The Art of the Revolution. For "Lulu," Good Morning Bedlam's Isaak Elker plays the lead role as a lovelorn young man, navigating a time when the person closest to him has moved away. As the story of the video progresses, the music lapses in and out of the diegetic space, and the story — and music — reach a crescendo during a symphonic sequence in which the video's main characters perform a ballroom dance, inviting comparisons to Saturday Night Live's highly acclaimed and artful "Love Is A Dream," which featured the late Phil Hartman and Jan Hooks. "'Lulu' is about giving up dreams that are no longer serving you anymore," Isaak Elker explains, "and in doing so, opening yourself up to things you couldn't imagine."
Good Morning Bedlam — consisting of Isaak Elker on guitar, Victoria Elker on bass, Sophia Mae on violin and all three on vocals — perform at Thesis Beer Project in Rochester, Minn., on Friday, Jan. 31, and will have their album-release show at the Amsterdam Bar & Hall in St. Paul, Minn., on Friday, Feb. 4.
