This past weekend, I went to VeeCon at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Led by successful entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk, aka Gary Vee, the three-day conference was dedicated to the future of digital technology, including Web3, NFTs (non-fungible tokens), the Metaverse, and more.

Now if that makes you go, “What in the world is that?” Don’t worry, you’re not alone. I’m still figuring it all out. That’s one of the main reasons why I went.

Plus, there were a lot of interesting people participating, like Snoop Dogg, Spike Lee, Pharrell Williams, Mila Kunis, Miguel, Deepak Chopra, Kevin Smith, Logan Paul, Seth Green, Eva Longoria, Beeple, Dj Skee, and more.

Here are three quick takeaways from the event:

1. About 7,000 people showed up, and 80% of them were visiting Minnesota for the first time. People came from Italy, Canada, Japan, and more. All walks of life, too. It was a very diverse group of people.

2. I still don’t fully understand everything there is to know about NFTs and the Metaverse. It’s something that’s happening rapidly. There are TV shows are being made with NFT characters, albums right now are being sold using NFTs, and so much more.

3. The vibe at VeeCon was very welcoming and chill. It felt like a family reunion. You could walk up to anyone and have a conversation.

I was able to sit down and talk with Miguel and Spike Lee. They were both excited about NFTs, but they were also open to talk about Prince.
