Midwestern summers can be unpredictable. Minnesota weather tends to blur the line between the dead of winter and the blazing peak of summer. Today, the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning in Minnesota for most of the day. It’s going to be dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 104. At 97 degrees, today’s expected temperature just about reaches the record high for this day of 98, set back in 1987.

With excessive heat warning comes extra precaution. It is advised to avoid strenuous activity outside, drink plenty of water, and take breaks in the shade. Why not add listening to good music to that list? Let’s put together a playlist for the heat. For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that mention heat?
