It’s the first Tuesday of August, which makes tonight National Night Out. The annual community-building campaign began in 1984 and is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch in the United States. It is celebrated by millions of neighbors across thousands of communities. National Night Out began simply with neighbors turning on their porch lights and sitting in front of their homes. Today, these events can be as simple as backyard cookouts or as complex as full-blown festivals.

Let’s gear up for National Night Out and celebrate our local communities. Fire up the grill, and stock up for the block party. For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs for National Night Out do you want to hear?
