Today is International Cat Day! The annual observation of one of the world’s favorite pets was created by the International Fund for Animal Welfare in 2002. Cat provide companionship and comfort to many. Studies have shown that having a cat can help lower stress, anxiety, and depression. Having a cat in your home can also help reduce the risk of heart disease in high-risk individuals. Plus, they are cute and entertaining! If you have a cat, show your appreciation by giving it a few extra cuddles and maybe a treat or two today.
