The people of Florida are bracing for a powerful hurricane to make landfall today. Hurricane Ian is just shy of becoming Category 5. Over 250,000 people evacuated Florida’s southwest coast amid dangerous wind, rain, and power outages. As Florida endures this devastating natural disaster, the rest of the country offers help. Thousands of National Guard members have been deployed to help in Florida, as well as Red Cross volunteers from all over the country. There are 30 volunteers from Minnesota and the Dakotas on the ground with 50 more on standby.

As we monitor the escalation of hurricane Ian over the next few days, let’s honor the Floridians who are braving the hurricane. For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs by artists from Florida do you want to hear?
