Today is Billy Idol’s birthday! First achieving fame in the ‘70s London punk rock scene as the lead singer of the group Generation X, he really made it big when he kicked off his solo career which led to international recognition and becoming a key player in the "Second British Invasion" in the United States.

The Second British Invasion of the 1980s was primarily due to MTV and the after-effects of the punk/new wave revolution and emergence of synthpop. Along with Billy Idol, bands like Duran Duran, Culture Club, The Police and Eurythmics had major success in the United States during the second wave. For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear from artists of the second wave of the British invasion?
