On this day in 2000, U2 made their first-ever appearance on the late-now comedy show. The band played "Beautiful Day" and "Elevation." Who can forget the iconic moment in 1992 when Sinead O’connor (who just celebrated her 56th birthday yesterday), ripped up a photo of Pope John Paul II?
