Stephen Sanchez stopped by The Current’s studios back in February when he was in town for a sold-out show at the Fine Line. In an interview with Jill Riley, Stephen mentioned some artists that inspired his retro sound and songwriting style, including Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Roy Orbison.

Musical acts like Greta Van Fleet, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Leon Bridges, and Dorothy all emulate a classic sound from before their time. Do you ever feel like you were born in the wrong era? For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear from modern artists with a retro-inspired sound?
