Coffee Break: AAPI Heritage Month
by Jill Riley and Nilufer Arsala
May 07, 2025

May is Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month! It serves as a time to celebrate the history and culture of people who are Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders, and the role they have played in our country’s history.
According to the Minnesota Historical Society, this year’s festivities are especially significant as it marks the 50th anniversary of several Southeast Asian communities’ arrival in the state. There are multiple ways to join in on the fun during this special month and to support the AAPI community across the state. Today we’re going to celebrate with music!
So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs from artists with AAPI heritage would you like to hear?
