Coffee Break: Teamwork and Public Media

The Current is a part of Minnesota Public Radio, an independent, public music service that relies on federal and state funding to provide music discovery.
Right now, that funding is at greater risk of disappearing than ever before. Last week, the White House delivered a proposed rescission package to Congress. It includes ONE - POINT - ONE - BILLION dollars in cuts to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting - clawing back funding Congress already approved. The House is expected to vote on this package this Thursday.
If these cuts are enacted, it would defund and dismantle the public media ecosystem as we know it. This is the most serious attack public media has ever seen.
Right now, it is a critical time when public media needs YOU and everyone who cares about this public service. Together, we can defend the future of public media by contacting Congress and letting them know how important it is – for our music community, for local and independent artists, for access to diverse perspectives, for vital weather updates, and for events that connect our communities. You can find more ways to take action at thecurrent.org/action.
Together we can defend public media. Together we can make our voices heard. When we work together, we can make an even bigger impact. Let’s highlight the power of teamwork with music.
So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs about working together to achieve a goal or being on the same team would you like to hear?
