Coffee Break: You've Got Mail
by Jill Riley and Nilufer Arsala
July 01, 2025

Tuesday is both National Postage Stamp Day and National Postal Worker Day! The special day celebrates our postal workers and commemorates the sale of the first postage stamp on July 1, 1847. The stamp made mailing letters more convenient and helped to turn the tide of collecting postage upon delivery of a letter or package.
Among the first to be featured on the stamps were George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, the country’s first Postmaster General. Since then, the little works of art have often been used to honor events or individuals who have made a difference. Today, let’s show appreciation for the U.S. Post Office with songs about sending a musical message!
So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs about mailing a letter or sending a message would you like to hear?
