Wednesday is Andy Warhol’s birthday! Warhol was a leader in the Pop Art movement, but in addition to being a visual artist known for pieces like Campbell’s Soup Cans or depictions of Marilyn Monroe, he also had a large hand in music.
Warhol designed record covers, directed music videos, rubbed elbows with the musical elite, and even managed the group the Velvet Underground for a short time. Today, let’s create a playlist to explore the musical world and influence of Warhol.
So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what artists or songs relating to Andy Warhol would you like to hear?
