The Replacements have released a new music video for the song “I Will Dare,” which originally appeared on the band’s landmark third album, Let It Be.
Filmed at the CC Club in Minneapolis, the video arrives the same day as the release of Rhino Records’ expanded Let It Be: Deluxe Edition, released 41 years after the original version debuted in Oct. 2, 1984.
In the clip, it’s a classic “Dick and Jane” story happening at the neighborhood hangout that used to be frequented by members of the band. Easter eggs from the era of Paul Westerberg, Bob and Tommy Stinson, and Chris Mars at the height of their creative powers are planted all over the bar, including a vintage jukebox loaded with ‘Mats 7-inches.
The cast includes HiFi Hair owner Jon Clifford and his dog Fred, who both also starred in the band’s “Takin’ a Ride” clip in 2021. Also, early Replacements manager Peter Jesperson’s memoir Euphoric Recall makes a cameo as the book Dick (Evan Campbell, drummer for the Shackeltons) is pretending to read while trying to get the attention of Jane (Sarah McCullough). Michelle Swanson, owner of Lucky Cat Records located across the street, plays a waitress. Campbell’s brothers/bandmates Colin and Cameron are also in the video as bar patrons.

Features of the Let It Be: Deluxe Edition — available as four vinyl LPs or three CDs — include a new remaster of the record’s original tracks, studio outtakes, Paul Westerberg’s home demos, and a 1984 concert recorded at Cubby Bear in Chicago, Illinois. Titled Goodnight! Go Home!, the previously unreleased 28-song performance features songs from the yet-to-be released Let It Be and some playful covers. A bonus 10-inch vinyl titled Live at City Garden, will be available exclusively via Rhino.com. Music journalist and musician Elizabeth Nelson contributed the new liner notes.
Coming up on Jan. 3, 2026, A Tribute to the Replacements feat. The Melismatics and a ton of special guests will take place at Turf Club in St. Paul. The show will feature a performance of the band’s debut, Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash, “and other hits” by the band. Details.
