Coffee Break: Optimists
by Jill Riley and Nilufer Arsala
February 05, 2026

If you’re a person who always sees the glass as half full, then consider today your holiday. Optimist Day is celebrated on the first Thursday in February.
The holiday was created by the Optimist Club of America in 1909, and was celebrated on April 1st before it was moved to February in 2017. The day celebrates the volunteers and youth who use their enthusiasm, skills, and talent to make their community a better place to live. Let’s create a playlist in honor of those who have the determination to do good.
So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs about looking on the bright side would you like to hear?
