Big Turn Music Fest took place Friday, Feb. 20, and Saturday, Feb. 21, in Red Wing, Minnesota. This year’s iteration of the annual event brought more than 100 musical acts from across the region to 15 venues spread across the center of Red Wing, a city of 17,000 and the seat of Goodhue County, situated at the “big turn” of the Mississippi River. The two-day festival fills the city of Red Wing with music as performances take place in typical venues as well as in unexpected places like a clothing store or a bike shop.

As is typical for such an ambitious and wide-ranging music festival, day two of Big Turn featured an array of musical styles, including Duluth experimental rocker Alan Sparhawk, who performed at the Sheldon Theatre. Barlow, Colin Bracewell, DJ AO, Liz Draper, Red Eye Ruby, Sleeping Jesus, Two Harbors, and many other also performed.
