Every year on April 30th, music lovers around the world come together to celebrate jazz. The holiday was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to recognize the genre and its ability to bring people together. The idea was created in part with jazz pianist Herbie Hancock, who was named a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in 2011.

You can celebrate the day by enjoying jazz classics, playing jazz music, or learning about something new. Let’s start our celebration – and the spirit of the day – by creating a playlist that could only be described as the cat’s meow.

So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what jazz songs would you like to hear?
