This special event at Sacred Heart Music Center in Duluth brings together artistic curators from communities across our region to showcase and develop the next generation of songwriters and performers.

 The Local Show and The Duluth Local Show combine to pay tribute to Mimi Parker, drummer and vocalist of Low. Tune in for three hours of Low's music dating back to the '90s, live performances at Rock The Garden and Fitzgerald Theater, tributes from Ryan Schrieber (Pitchfork founder), Conrad Sverkerson (First Avenue stage manager), HALEY, Al Church, Liz Draper, and more.

Unseen Sound's centerpiece documentary has both local and international ties, as it spotlights trailblazing women who overcome stereotypes and prejudice to become master taiko drummers.

The Local Show pays respect to the late Mimi Parker, co-founder of Low and one of the most respected and influential voices of Minnesota’s North Shore. Hear music from all 10 artists featured on our November Scouting Report. Also, a number of up-and-coming talent make their debut to The Current’s airwaves, including Glam Toyota, Ray Gun Youth, and Grayson DeWolfe.

The Duluth Local Show honors Mimi Parker, co-founder of Low. Additionally, hear music from Ingeborg Von Agassiz, Superior Siren, The Latelys, and more.

The group’s vocalist and drummer started Low with Alan Sparhawk in 1993. Parker and husband Alan Sparhawk were the constant, essential elements of Low’s magic throughout the band’s entire run. They gained an early reputation for slow, meditative songs, but continued to evolve creatively.

The "films-on-music" hits the Twin Cities from Nov. 9-13 with films showing the artists behind the music. 

Minnesota-based singer-songwriter Luke LeBlanc recently released ‘Fugue State,’ his fourth full album. LeBlanc and his band visited the Radio Heartland studio to play songs from the new record and to talk with host Mike Pengra.

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are the rare songwriting and producing team to get into the prestigious hall, and they hope it will lead to more artists like them being inducted.
