The Local Show’s 2021 edition of Time Machine Weekend features 2005 and 1984. 2005 was a year when big Minnesota music names such as Trampled By Turtles, Dessa, Haley, Low, The Hold Steady and Charlie Parr really started to set their career paths forward with some incredible albums, all highlighted in this episode. We also feature some gems from artist that you may have forgot about, including Tapes ‘n Tapes, The Soviettes and Cloud Cult. 1984 was also an important year in Minnesota music with the release of Prince’s Purple Rain, The Replacements’ “Let It Be” and The Suburb’s “Love Is The Law” and more.
