Another United States of Americana coming! On this show we’ll hear from a bunch of artists coming to town! T-Bone Burnette plays on Wednesday at The Parkway, Pokey LaFarge plays the same night at Fine Line, John Hiatt has a big string of shows at The Dakota & Benjamin Tod performs at First Avenue on Tuesday. I’ll feature new music from Liv Greene & Local artist John Magnusan. I also just received some cool covers from Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Lucinda Williams, and Bo Ramsey. We’ll hear all that and more on the rootsier side of the Current!

On this show we’ll remember Kris Kristofferson who died last weekend at 88 years of age. He was one of the greatest songwriters ever. Kristofferson had a big string of hits recorded by him and others from the late 60’s to mid 70’s. We’ll hear a handful of Kristofferson tunes and a few choice covers. Plus, I have new tunes for us to check out from Kelley Mickwee, Amythyst Kiah and local artist Molly Brandt.

On this United States of Americana we featured nothing but tunes recorded live Sound Stage Studios in Nashville during AmericanaFest 2024. We’ll check out music from artists like Lizzie No, Robert Earl Keen, Wyatt Flores, Hiss Golden Messenger, Amythyst Kiah and we have a couple of tunes from both The Cactus Blossoms and Madi Diaz!

This time on United States of Americana, we’ll hear a couple from The Band, whose self-titled second album was released on this date (Sept. 22) in 1969.

On this United States of Americana, I am going to feature a couple tunes from MJ Lenderman, who’s new album was released a few days ago. He is also set to play First Avenue on October 12th! Johnny Blue Skies (aka Sturgill Simpson) performs at Roy Wilkins Auditorium on September 25th, I’ll have a couple pairs of tickets to give away to the show. I also have new songs from The Heavy Heavy’s full-length debut, and I have a new song from Southern Avenue, who just opened for Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan at Sommerset Amphitheatre.   Join me Sunday at 8am for the USofA!    

United States of Americana returned this morning at 8…Fresh off their first ever appearance at the Grand Ole Opry, we'll hear a few tunes from The Cactus Blossoms' new album "Every Time I Think About You"! We’ll also hear new songs from Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, who have a couple of shows coming at The Fitzgerald Theater on September 9 and 10. We’ll hear a new one from Melissa Carper, who appears at the 7th St. Entry on Sept. 10, and a tune from the first collaboration of Hayes Carll and The Band of Heathens, appropriately called Hayes and the Heathens. It’s all on this weeks show!

On this United States of Americana, I featured a couple from Steve Earle. He has a new live album and a couple of show at the Dakota this week. Logan Ledger returns to the Twin Cities for a Turf Club show this week, we'll hear him on the show, I have a new local tune from Emmy Woods & Waylon Jennings was at the top of the charts this time in 1977. I'll play his biggest hit! Join me Sunday for another USofA!   

I have another United States of Americana coming your way! I just got a brand new tune from Billy Strings that I'm excited to play for you! Also on the docket is a song from Charley Crockett. He'll be on stage at the Palace next Friday. We'll also hear new songs Johnny Blue Skies, India Ramey and The Avett Brothers.

On this United States of Americana I’ll feature a rising star in the Americana world.  Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway have a brand-new EP, I’ll play a tune from it. I also have new music from Eliza Thorn, a local tune from Clayton Ryan and we’ll hear from many artists in our neighborhood in the week to come, like The Mavericks, Old 97’s and Nat Myers.
