This time on the show we’re gonna take a trip back in time to 1975. It was the year the mood ring was introduced, remember those? It was also a big year for Waylon Jennings, Loretta Lynn, who released her landmark tune “The Pill” and Bob Dylan released one of his most beloved albums Plus we’ll have the usual dose of Music discovery, including a new song from TX a singer & songwriter Presley Haile   

Sunday marks the one year anniversary of the passing of Kris Kristofferson.  This time we’ll salute one of country music’s greatest songwriters. We’ll hear a few of Kristofferson tunes and some choice covers Plus, we featured the usual dose of new music, including a song from the Austin TX band Briscoe!

The annual AmericanaFest was held in Nashville September 9 thru 13. There panel discussions day and evening stages all over Music City and the Americana Awards and Honors were held on Wednesday, September 10 at The Ryman Auditorium. This time we’ll hear some of the award winners and we’ll listen to some of the artists who performed at the event!

This week on United States of Americana, we’ll be commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Farm Aid.

1995 was a pretty great year for alt-country and Americana, there were debuts from both Son Volt and Wilco. Emmylou Harris released her Wrecking Ball album & The Jayhawks dropped Tommorow the Green Grass, we’ll hear all of those artists and more, plus, we’ll check out a couple tunes from Margo Price’s just released new album! 

Kathleen Edwards has a new album out this week called “Billionaire,” which is co-produced by Jason Isbell. In hour 1 we’ll listen to the whole album! We’ll also hear a few songs for the State Fair!

Molly Tuttle has a new album out this week called “So Long Little Miss Sunshine,” it’s a different kind of album for Molly. It’s less bluegrass and shows more pop, rock and country influences. We’ll check out some of those new songs and Molly will chime in with some of her thoughts, as well. Plus, more tunes from Charley Crockett. He just released another new album and plays Surly Festival Field on Saturday!

This was a bustling installment of USofA! Lots going on! We checked out a few new tunes from Charley Crockett. His new album Dollar A Day was released on Friday. I also featured a handful of songs about Nashville, including Ketch Secor’s new song and we paid tribute to Flaco Jimenez. The legendary accordionist passed away just over a week ago.

In the last few weeks quite a few cool covers have come down the pike from artists like Kacey Musgraves and Chaparelle. It got me thinking, why not a full show  of covers, so that's what we’re gonna due a full show of covers (for or for worse!) 

This Time it’s a preview of some of the new music for the 2nd half of the year! We’ll feature Charley Crockett, that gent from TX has his 2nd album of the year coming soon and a show in a few weeks at Surly, we’ll also hear Hermanos Gutierrez, who enlisted Leon Bridges for their new song & Asleep at the Wheel has a new song about the Lone Star state.
