Kacey Musgraves is on tour and heading back to the Twin Cities to play Target Center on Sept 22, so we’ll celebrate with some of her music on this USofA!

On this United States of Americana, we remember Dolly. Dolly Parton died at age 80 last Tuesday. We will never forget her.

On this episode we featured artists performing at Outlaw Fest, which is set for this Wednesday at Mystic Lake Amphitheatre in Shakopee, MN. We’ll hear people like Willie Nelson, The Avett Brothers, Stephen Wilson JR., Sierra Hull and Lukas Nelson on United States of Americana.

The Band’s Robbie Robertson & Jerry Garcia of Grateful Dead both passed away on August 9th. We’ll remember Robbie and Jerry with a few tunes on this week's show. USofA will also feature a new recording from the first ever recording from longtime friends Steve Earle and the East LA legends Los Lobos.

On this day in 1992, Uncle Tupelo released their acoustic classic, March 16-20, 1992. It was an album of mostly old school country music covers. The album was produced by REM’s Pet Buck. We’ll dig in a bit and feature several tunes from this classic album.

It seems like there has been a bunch of artists recently that have been influenced by 90’s Alt-Country sounds. Bands like Wednesday, M.J. Lenderman and Ratboys come to mind. We’ll check out some Alt-Country sounds, both new and old, on this United States of Americana.
