A lot of string bands can do very well by playing traditional old-time or canonical bluegrass music, and then there are those who like to stretch out a bit. Barbaro, a four-piece string band from Minnesota, fall into the latter category. Barbaro peformed at Radio Heartland ahead of a big gig at the upcoming Boats and Bluegrass Festival, set in the southeastern Minnesota city of Winona.
