Arcade Fire retain their spot on top and are inducted to the Chart Hall of Fame for the 5th time. That puts them third all-time behind Mumford And Sons with 6 inductions and The Black Keys with 7. Phosphorescent are also inducted—for the very first time—reflecting how well they have done in year-end polls across the globe. They made number #1 in Paste Magazine. The #1 on the NME readers poll in the UK comes in at #14 this week, Foals. They did one of my fave in studio sessions of the year.

This week, vote for your chance to win a pair of tickets to Wits featuring comedian Maria Bamford and Thao Nguyen of Thao and the Get Down Stay Down at the Fitzgerald Theater on Dec. 20!

Seems like acoustic based bands got a bit of help this week, perhaps the Dawes fans trying for tickets to their New Year's Eve show at the Varsity Theater. Dr. Dog, Head and the Heart and Volcano Choir all got big pushes back up after falling last week, but we lost Neko Case after only three weeks.

The other big climber this week are Broken Bells, who have already sold out their First Avenue date next year! Mason Jennings played two well-reviewed shows there last weekend and comes back into the chart this week. We've kept him busy recently, he's our CD of the Week, he did an in-studio, as well as a Theft of the Dial AND a Guitar Collection! Other new entries are Polica and J. Roddy Walston and the Business, both of whom featured on my end of the year lists, check ours and please make your own choices for our Top 89!

AND, if you haven't seen it yet, check out this video of Lorde covering The Cult's "It Just Melts My Heart" at age 12 with her band Extreme! This is HOOJ!

Get your votes in for next weeks Chart, too, which will be the last new one of 2013 as we celebrate the end of year with TWO special Chart Shows filled with Number One hits!
