MPR's Movie Maven Stephanie Curtis joins Steve Seel and Jill Riley to talk about a new film, based on the popular book, about a teenage girl who is fighting cancer and falls for a boy in her support group. Steve, Jill and Stephanie also talk about their own tearjerker picks.

The Fault in Our Stars about a teenage girl, Hazel (Shailene Woodley), who is fighting cancer and falls for Gus (Ansel Elgort), a boy in her support group. The film also stars Laura Dern and is directed by Josh Boone.

Stephanie noted that people in the cinema were openly "sobbing and snuffling," but that she wasn't quite as moved, thinking this may have something to do with not having read the book on which the film is based. This raises the question: Will those who haven't read the book be able to enjoy the film as much as those who have?

The Fault in Our Stars is rated PG-13 is playing at theaters everywhere.

Stephanie, Jill and Steve share their own tearjerker picks. For Stephanie, her tear-inducing films are L'Amour and The Best Years of Our Lives; Jill's pick for tears of joy is It's a Wonderful Life, while her sympathetic tears are conjured by My Girl, Mask and Terms of Endearment; Steve's tearjerker is Field of Dreams.

Which films make you cry? Share your tearjerker picks in the comments below.
