tUnE-yArDs makes it back to the top this week as fans try to get tickets to her sold out First Avenue show July 17. If you were lucky enough to get tickets, don't be fashionably late as Minneapolis' own Dosh will open for Merrill and the gang. And if you snag tickets, she's just announced more gigs including a show at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee Oct. 23.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to see Foster the People and NONONO at the Myth on Monday, Aug. 4!

The highest new entry this week is "Hunger of the Pine," the first single from alt-J's forthcoming release This Is All Yours, out Sept. 23. Can you spot the famous female voice sampled in the mix of the song? It's Miley Cyrus, a big fan of the band who apparently was jazzed about being involved.

Valerie June also gets on this week, after the great reviews for her Rock The Garden performance. She was a delight to talk to when Bill and I interviewed her before the show. She hung out backstage after her set, too, wearing a Current t-shirt — the one designed by Neko Case!

There's still tickets left for the return of some more former Rock the Garden acts including the Hold Steady at the Minnesota Zoo this Saturday, July 5! They drop off the Chart this week along with Conor Oberst who'll also be back in the Midwest for the 80/35 Festival in Des Moines this weekend.

Just hanging on to the basement spot of the Chart this week is Sam Smith, whose record In The Lonely Hour went to #2 on Billboard 200's Chart when it released a few weeks ago. It's our CD of the Week, and The Current's Music Director David Safar describes it as "a seamless blend of pop, soul, jazz and R&B".

Trampled By Turtles drop a few places this week but they now have some help from Har Mar Superstar! He's featured in the new video for "Wild Animals" as a disgruntled cabbie. Stay tuned for details of a big live broadcast we're doing with Trampled By Turtles from the Cedar Cultural Center on Thursday, July 10. Starting Thursday, July 3 at noon you can head here for a chance to attend the sold out private performance.

In a bizarre coming together of an artist on the Chart and an artist named as the title of a song on this weeks chart... Jack White did an instrumental version of Kanye West's "Black Skinhead" to open a show in Dublin. Apparently Kanye has asked Jack to collaborate in the past maybe they will in the future?!
