This week's schedule

The incomparable Mavis Staples — who recently released We Get By, her 14th studio album — will appear on Thursday's The Ellen Degeneres Show. Denver's The Lumineers, meanwhile, whose third studio album (the aptly titled III) is set for release in September, will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live this Friday night. Other new performances this week include Aloe Blacc on Kimmel (Tuesday) and Alessia Cara on ABC's Good Morning America on Friday, continuing that program's Friday-morning summer concert series.

Notable reruns this week include an encore of the U.S. late-night debut of Fontaines D.C., which re-airs this Thursday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Saturday brings an encore of a Saturday Night Live from May 4, on which Shawn Mendes was officially the musical guest, but arguably the program's most memorable musical moment came courtesy host Adam Sandler, who captivated the audience with his heartfelt musical tribute to the late Chris Farley.

The PBS music series Austin City Limits, currently on its summer hiatus, keeps things fresh during the break with a stunning lineup of encore episodes; this week, ACL dusts off a good one from Season 42: Florence + the Machine and Andra Day.
