June is pride month, and just around the corner is Twin Cities’ Pride Festival. This Sunday’s Local Show will celebrate by playing song selections from outstanding LGBT musicians in our very own community. That includes our artist of the month Nat Harvie, Holly Hansen, KC Rae, Leslie Vincent and more. We also have exciting debuts from indie artists Trash Date, Big Delicious, Mati and more. And just after 9pm hear our next Local Live session featuring hip-hop artist Zora – recorded at Amsterdam during Minnesota Music Month this past April.  

We honor the 40th anniversary of Purple Rain with selections from the iconic soundtrack by the late Minnesota music hero Prince. We’ll also honor the national holiday Juneteenth with song selections from engaging black voices like Ashley DuBose, The Sounds of Blackness and more. We'll honor the late Efren Maldonado (of 12 Rods and Plastik Boxes). Hear a variety of new, discoverable tracks by artists like The Cactus Blossoms, Creeping Charlie, Painted Shield and more. And just after 9pm hear jeremy messersmith's live performance at The Fitzgerald Theater during MN Music Month.
