On this USofA I'll featured a few tunes from Lucinda Williams. This legendary singer/songwriter turns 72 on January 26th. I will also feature a couple of covers by local artists like Trampled By Turtles and Pam Linton, and I have a new song from the late Kinky Friedman. He finished an album before he passed away last year. 

One of Bob Dylan’s most legendary albums, “Blood on the Tracks” was released on January 20th, 1975. The album, which was record at Sound 80 Studio here in the Twin Cities is turning 50! We’ll celebrate w/a handful of “tracks” from the album and I had a chat with guitarist Kevin Odegard, who performed on the album. We’ll also salute one of the USofA’s most beloved artists, Dolly Parton as she turns 79 today!  

Fifty years ago — on January 20, 1975, to be exact — Bob Dylan released his 15th studio album, Blood on the Tracks. Musician Kevin Odegard joins Bill DeVille to talk about the Minneapolis recording sessions that shaped half of that monumental album.

We'll hear the wonderfully quirky voice of Iris DeMent, who turns 64 on January 5. We'll also take a look back at 2024 one more time to hear great songs from artists like Hayes & the Heathens, Jontavious Willis, and Kasey Chambers.

It’s the Annual Holiday Show on this weeks United States of Americana! you’ll hear seasonal favorites from your favorite Americana artists new and old. We’ll check a few that we just got in this season from artists like The Milk Carton Kids, locals The Belfast Cowboys, & Ana Egge. Plus, classics from Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, John Prine and Nick Lowe!

It was a Wilco Weekend; I played along and spun a couple of tunes on the show.  A Complete Unknown, the new Bob Dylan film opens Christmas day. I featured a few tunes from those early days in the the Big Apple, after he left Minnesota! Plus, we are inching closer to Christmas, I played a few holiday tunes on the airwaves and I featured some brand-new songs to play from Drew and Ellie Holcomb and Dwight Yoakam, as well!

After a week off, United States of Americana is back! We checked out a couple of tunes from Henry and Howard Coward, known collectively as The Coward Brothers (it's actually longtime friends Elvis Costello and T Bone Burnett).

Another United States of Americana is in the books. I just got a brand new song from Ringo Starr, perhaps you’ve heard of him! He has a new album set to drop early next year. It’s produced by T Bone Burnett, who also wrote most of the songs.
